The QMA is responsible for accurately administering medications and providing nursing care to residents under the supervision of a community nurse. They must also document resident responses, maintain medical records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Indiana Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, and a state-approved medication administration certification. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds and the capacity to function calmly in emergency situations.
