The Podiatrist will perform examinations and diagnose various foot and leg conditions for patients in long-term care facilities. They will also provide treatments, prescribe medications, and offer guidance on foot care and wellness.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree and a valid DEA license. Previous experience in long-term care settings is required, along with the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Performed examinations on patients’ legs and feet to identify and diagnose various diseases and conditions. Provide treatment for foot and leg injuries, such as fractures, corns, and calluses. Recommend and prescribe medication for relieving joint pain and suggest foot orthoses to enhance mobility and alleviate discomfort. Offer guidance and advice to patients regarding foot care and overall wellness practices. Request additional medical tests as necessary based on the initial assessments.
