The monitor technician is responsible for setting up patients with Holter and event monitors and monitoring cardiac alerts to notify medical staff of abnormalities. They also perform data analysis, edit monitor downloads, and prepare reports for provider review while documenting patient data in the EMR system.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of relevant experience or training in device, monitor, or telemetry technology. Proficiency in ECG recognition is required, and the candidate must obtain a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification within two years of hire.
We seek an individual with experience in device technology, monitor/telemetry, or Holter scanning, with a strong foundation in ECG interpretation. The ideal candidate possesses robust cardiac rhythm recognition abilities and superior written and verbal communication skills. Essential skills include proficiency in Holter/event monitor scanning, data analysis, editing, and report preparation for cardiologist review.

Prior device tech, monitor, or telemetry tech training is necessary. Certification as a Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) is required within two years of hire, plus current CPR/BLS certification.
As a Monitor Technician in the Heart Rhythm/Device Department, you'll work closely with the team lead and manager to ensure efficient patient flow for holter and event monitoring services. Your role includes technical and administrative support, performing ECGs, and holter/event monitor setups as required. Critical to this position is the ability to identify cardiac dysrhythmias, conduct monitor scanning, editing, and report preparation for provider review, contributing significantly to patient care and clinic operations.
