The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications using automation, compounding, and data entry. They are responsible for maintaining pharmacy service operations and ensuring accurate medication delivery within the healthcare facility.
Candidates must possess strong computer data entry skills, the ability to perform accurate dosage calculations, and precise hand-eye coordination for handling IV medications. The role requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the flexibility to adapt to department staffing needs.
The Pharmacy Technician I works under the supervision of the Director, Associate Director-Pharmacy and under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists. A demanding job requiring an understanding of various work functions including, but not limited to, medication distribution, intravenous admixture, pharmacy automation and general pharmacy service operations. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assists in the preparation and distribution of medications utilizing automation, packaging, labeling, charging, compounding, data entry, and delivery.
