The Ophthalmic Diagnostic Medical Technician performs diagnostic testing such as fundus photography, OCTs, and visual fields. They also assist ophthalmologists and optometrists with patient work-ups and the administration of eye medications.
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in ophthalmology and proficiency in electronic medical records. Certification through JCAHPO is preferred, as is an associate degree.

The Ophthalmic Diagnostic Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic testing on patients such as fundus photography, OCTs, color vision testing, pachymetry, visual fields. This position may also be responsible for assisting Ophthalmologists and Optometrists by performing ophthalmic clinical functions as necessary including patient work ups and administering eye medications. Travel between clinic locations and/or overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Minimal of one year in Ophthalmology. Certification preferred. Skills and Abilities Superior interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to perform manifest refraction is preferred. Ability to effectively multitask. Attentive to detail and accuracy.
