The Ophthalmic Technician collects patient medical histories and performs various diagnostic eye tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and corneal topography. They also assist physicians with in-office procedures, patient education, and maintaining a sanitized clinical environment.
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in ophthalmology and the ability to perform manifest refraction and Goldmann tonometry. An associate degree is preferred, and certification through JCAHPO is highly desirable.

The Ophthalmic Technician is responsible for collecting and recording ocular and systemic patient histories, visual acuities, BP, IOP, Auto refractions, Manifest Refractions, performing external examinations, and dry-eye testing, as well as disease specific extra testing. Travel between clinic locations and/or overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Minimal of one year in Ophthalmology Certification preferred by not required Skills and Abilities Superior interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to perform manifest refraction is required Ability to perform Goldmann tonometry is required. Ability to effectively multitask Attentive to detail and accuracy.
