• As a MRI Technologist at UPMC you play a critical role in ensuring accurate and safe imaging procedures for our patients.
• Your expertise and attention to detail contribute to exceptional patient care and efficient department operations.
• Key Responsibilities: Clinical Competency: Maintain proficiency in operating MRI equipment and stay updated on technological advancements.
• Perform high-quality MRI scans with precision and attention to patient safety.
• Patient Identification and Universal Protocol: Properly identify patients using two identifiers.
• Follow universal protocol guidelines during procedures to prevent errors.
• Review patient history and assess physician orders to tailor protocols for optimal data acquisition.
• Administer contrast agents as needed and document patient history in electronic records.
• Physician Collaboration: Present relevant patient information to physicians before starting exams.
• Follow established protocols to ensure accurate and efficient imaging.
• Administrative Tasks: Code and track all exams within your responsibility using the RIS system.
• Update and document patient information in Rad Assessment.
• Network exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation.
• Enter charges accurately for performed exams.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to MR safety guidelines and protocols.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Effective Communication: Interact compassionately with patients and colleagues.
• Explain procedures clearly to alleviate patient anxiety and encourage cooperation.
• Collaboration and Efficiency: Work seamlessly with other departments to expedite patient care.
