The Residential Counselor works closely with the treatment team to ensure the resident program schedule and master treatment plan are executed as designed. Key duties involve assisting nurses with resident care and actively engaging with residents throughout their treatment day activities.
A high school diploma is required, but a Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field is strongly preferred, along with a minimum of one year of direct care experience with adolescents in a residential or juvenile setting. Candidates must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, adolescent development, and behavior management techniques.
