The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer provides medical imaging services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. They perform clinical activities in accordance with facility policies, professional standards, and their specific education and training.
Candidates must hold a certificate from a two-year Allied Health program or an Associate/Bachelor's degree from an accredited ultrasound program. Current ARDMS credentials in specific specialties and an AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card are required.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer functions as a healthcare provider, who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medial sonographer services and its various clinical specialties. The activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policy and procedures and applicable professional standards.
Certificate Completion of a two-year Allied Health education program or Associate or Bachelors of Applied Science Degree Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider Card Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) ARDMS Credentialed in one of the following (credentials in multiple specialties preferred): 1) Abdomen 2) OBGYN 3) Pediatric 4) MSK ARDMS Breast credentials required to rotate through Breast Center Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) RVT Registered within 6 months Vascular Experience Preferred To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time position. Previous employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.
