The Registered Nurse is responsible for the total nursing care, assessment, and treatment of assigned patients in the emergency department. They also oversee the care delegated to non-licensed personnel and ensure a safe clinical environment.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Professional Nursing and hold a current Texas or compact state RN license. Preferred qualifications include one year of hospital experience and certifications in ACLS, PALS, and TNCC.
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
Has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge process of each assigned patient to attain optimal health and continuity of care. The RN administers medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in keeping with the current clinical nursing practice. The RN is responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating care delegated to non-licensed personnel ensuring that the plan of care is carried out in a safe environment. Cross-trains to all patient care departments to ensure adequate staffing levels.
