The Endoscopy Technologist assists physicians and nursing staff with endoscopic procedures, including room setup, patient positioning, and equipment maintenance. They are also responsible for pre-cleaning scopes, documenting usage, and ensuring all safety checks are performed according to hospital policy.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and an active BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Additionally, applicants need experience as a Surgical Technician, Medical Assistant, EMT, or previous work in an endoscopy procedural area.
Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as an Endoscopy Technician in the GI Procedures department. Here, you are responsible for assisting in the collection of data for an objective assessment to identify the patient’s needs, problems, concerns or human responses. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
The Endoscopy Technician assists the M.D. as well as the RN (if applicable) in pre-op, intra procedure, and post-op. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting in procedure set-up, documentation of scope usage, pre-cleaning, transport, and other duties as assigned. The technician will also be responsible for procedures done in the inpatient setting and assist assisting in procedure set-up at the patient’s bedside, and appropriate documentation of scope usage, pre-cleaning, transport.
• Certification from a recognized professional organization (e.g. SGNA, IAHCSMM, CBSPD, etc.)

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
