The Sterilization Technician is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing orthodontic instruments while maintaining strict infection control protocols. They also manage inventory, perform quality assurance testing, and assist the clinical team with room turnover and workflow efficiency.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced clinical environment. Prior experience in sterilization or dental/medical settings is preferred, though training may be provided.
$20-$23 hour Monday-Friday The Sterilization Technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant clinical environment. This position ensures all instruments, equipment, and treatment areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control, supporting the orthodontic team in delivering excellent patient care. Instrument Processing — Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize orthodontic instruments following OSHA, CDC, and practice protocols. Equipment Operation — Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and instrument washers; perform routine monitoring and documentation of sterilization cycles. Infection Control — Set up and break down treatment rooms, disinfect surfaces, and maintain strict adherence to infection‑control procedures. Inventory Management — Track, restock, and organize sterile instruments, disposables, and sterilization supplies. Quality Assurance — Conduct biological and chemical indicator testing, maintain logs, and report any equipment issues promptly. Support to Clinical Team — Assist orthodontic assistants with room turnover, tray setup, and workflow efficiency as needed. Compliance & Safety — Follow all regulatory guidelines and maintain a clean, organized sterilization area. Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to follow strict protocols Comfortable working in a fast‑paced clinical environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Prior sterilization or dental/medical experience preferred (but can be trained depending on office needs)
