The audiologist identifies, evaluates, and rehabilitates audiological disorders and hearing loss across all age groups. They are also responsible for providing patient and family education while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Candidates must hold a Master's or Doctorate degree in Audiology and possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Additionally, current CPR certification for all age groups is required.
Identifies, evaluates and rehabilitates audiological disorders and hearing loss in patients, which may include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients according to clinical competency. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.
REQUIRED Master’s degree in Audiology. Current licensure by the Georgia State Board of Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. PREFERRED Doctorate in Audiology. Previous clinical experience. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Audiology granted by the American Speech –Language-Hearing Association or previously holding certification; or meets the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion of CCC in one year.
