The Family Support Specialist conducts regular in-home visits to build trusting relationships with families and provide guidance on child development. They also facilitate group socialization experiences, perform developmental screenings, and maintain accurate client documentation.
Candidates must be fluent in English and Spanish and possess at least a high school diploma or GED. Experience working with children aged 0-3 and their families is required, along with reliable transportation for home visits.
We are looking to hire a bilingual Spanish-speaking Family Support Specialist to join the NVFS Healthy Families team in Alexandria! In this role, you will build trusting relationships with families through regular in-home visits, providing support, guidance, and connections to community resources. As a Family Support Specialist (FSS), you will help promote healthy child development and strengthen families while delivering services in accordance with Healthy Families America Best Practice Standards.
Our healthy families program supports parents and caregivers during the critical early years of a child’s life. As a family support specialist, you build trusting relationships with families and provide guidance, resources, and encouragement that help strengthen parenting skills and promote healthy child development. Your work helps create safer, stronger families and brighter futures for children in our community.
This position has a salary range in the mid 40s and is a hybrid role.
