The pharmacy technician assists in the technical and non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing under the supervision of a pharmacist. They are also responsible for maintaining competency in the compounding of sterile IV medications and participating in pharmacy operations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of hospital pharmacy technician experience. Additionally, they must hold a national pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) and be an active registered pharmacy technician with the state board.
