The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, including lab tests, treatments, and vital sign collection under the direction of physicians or nurses. They also perform essential clerical duties, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure clinic readiness through quality control and supply management.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills. A Medical Assistant certification is preferred, along with the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods.
The Medical Assistant performs basic direct patient care activities, such as lab tests, treatments, and medication/immunization administration. These are performed under the direction of the Nurse and/or the physician in preparation for the patient's examination and treatment. The incumbent carries out clerical activities, quality control activities, performance improvement initiatives, etc. in support of the physician practice as assigned. This position also serves as a resource for the clerical/clinical staff in the practice.
• Previous outpatient office experience.
