Technician-Polysomnography II

Job Summary

• Performs basic polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of the clinical director or medical director.
• May verify insurance, enters patient admission information into the HBO system.
• May provide supervision of other staff.
• Subject to overtime and callback as required.
• Reports to the Director of the Sleep Center.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Job Responsibilities
• Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameter/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
• Oversees and performs difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Follows procedural protocols.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
• Completes assigned goals.

Minimum Experience

Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible in Sleep and must challenge the BRPT Exam of hire/transfer to be eligible to remain in the PSG II job classification. If the candidate has previous sleep experience and is eligible to take the exam upon hire, he/she must challenge the next available exam date and and pass the exam to remain a PSG II Technician.

Minimum Special Skills

Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Basic computer literacy skills.

Minimum Licensure, Registration, Certification

Acls;bls certification within 14 days of hire
