The Monitor Technician provides continuous cardiac rhythm surveillance and video monitoring to ensure patient safety. They also document all monitoring activities and communicate effectively with the nursing staff.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and have completed an approved dysrhythmia course. Prior healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology are desired.
The Monitor Technician I provides accurate cardiac rhythm surveillance through continuous remote cardiac monitoring, while maintaining communication with the patient's nurse. The Monitor Technician I will also document monitoring activities and communication for inclusion in the patient's chart. The Monitor Technician I also serves in the capacity of a Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician as needed, if qualified. Additionally, the Monitor Technician I will provide a safe environment for the patient by continuously monitoring video from a remote centralized monitoring station.
