Provide routine patient care including ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collection under the direction of nurses and physicians. Support safety, quality, and patient-experience initiatives while participating in a dual-placement model for skill development.
Requires a high school diploma and either 2 years of healthcare experience or a combination of experience and a health sciences degree. Must possess BLS/CPR certification and complete a mandatory training course.
Models safe patient-handling and evidence‑based practices Partners with nursing leadership in safety, quality, and patient‑experience initiatives Attends scheduled trainings and meetings Maintains a strong attendance and professionalism In addition the Patient Care Technicians provide routine patient care and support the department services in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role will be directed by nurses and/or physicians to ensure that the highest degree of quality patient care can be maintained at all times. Patient care duties may include, but are not limited to, ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients, and blood glucose), vital signs, simple dressings, EKGs, bladder scans, and all specimen collections.
