Candidates must be able to assist with self-care, mobility, and language development while maintaining accurate electronic visit verification records. The role requires completion of mandatory training on Indiana standards, behavior support plans, and incident reporting.
Description The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This is a part-time position, averaging a total of 20 hours per week. Shifts available: 10-15 hours during the week days; 5-10 hours on weekends. You may specify which shift(s) you are interested in.
All DSPs will assist individuals supported with one or more of the following: self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation. All DSPs will document work records via AccelTrax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable. Work records will include a narrative note for each shift with what was done to assist the individual, the individual's whereabouts, and the duration of the activities. Progress notes will also include and option to select goals worked on. All DSPs will be trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards with additional training as needed on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration. All DSPs will be trained on and expected to complete Incident Reporting as needed.
