The clinical pharmacist is responsible for conducting accurate medication order reviews and ensuring patient safety through adherence to departmental protocols. They also provide education to staff and students while contributing to departmental cost-reduction and revenue generation efforts.
Candidates must hold a B.S. or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy and possess or be eligible for a Connecticut Pharmacist License. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.

EDUCATION Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy with a B.S. or PharmD degree EXPERIENCE Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience is required. PGY2 pharmacy residency is desired, but not required. LICENSURE Current Connecticut Pharmacist License, or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Connecticut SPECIAL SKILLS This individual should demonstrate basic knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics, and understand pharmacy systems of drug distribution and formulary management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with others are required.
