The Nursing Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. They are also responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the behavioral health unit.
Candidates should possess knowledge of medical terminology and have at least six months of experience in an acute care or physician's office setting. A Certified Nursing Assistant certificate is preferred, and BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire.
The Nursing Assistant in the Behavioral Health Unit is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred. 2. Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current. 3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology. 4.
