The physical therapist will evaluate patient physical functioning, establish treatment plans, and administer manual exercises to help patients reach maximum physical performance. They are also responsible for documenting progress, supervising physical therapist assistants, and educating patients and their families.
Candidates must have a degree in physical therapy, with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) required for those licensed from 2016 onwards. A valid Massachusetts Physical Therapist license is mandatory, and 1-2 years of internship or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
