The Speech Language Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and implement treatment plans for patients in home-based and acute care settings. They will provide care for various medical conditions impacting communication, language, and feeding safety while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, a valid license, ASHA certification, and BLS certification. At least one year of recent experience in both acute care and home health settings is required.
Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses. Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions and deficits which impact communication, language development, oral motor skills, and feeding safety and efficiency. Diagnoses which commonly impact these developmental areas include prematurity, neurological, respiratory, cardiac, GI, genetic, craniofacial and developmental delay. Provides extensive patient/family education. Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc. Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.
