The incumbent provides patient care within their scope of practice while simultaneously performing unit secretary duties. They must function competently and independently to meet performance expectations in both roles.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a valid Nurse Aide I or II listing with the NC Division of Facility Services. Additionally, BCLS certification is required, with specific crisis intervention certifications needed for ED or Psychiatry practice areas.
Summary of Performance Expectations. Provides care within scope of practice and medical center policies and procedures, appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span. Required to work and function competently and independently in both NA and Unit Secretary role in order to meet annual evaluation performance expectations.
Knowledge of medical terminology. Formal training in basic computer applications. Ability to type proficiently.
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in basic aspects of job within three months of employment date.
