The physician is responsible for overseeing patient care quality, performing psychiatric assessments, and directing the treatment team. They also provide psychiatric consultations and ensure all clinical documentation meets reimbursement and legal standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited medical school and have completed or be near completion of an accredited psychiatry residency or fellowship program. Prior experience in psychiatric practice within the last two years is required, or the candidate must be a recent graduate.
Graduate of an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent degree. Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry OR at least be in the 6th month of PGY-3 or higher in an ACGME-accredited Psychiatric Residency or in a Psychiatry Fellowship Program PGY-4 or higher. If seeking privileges in specialized areas (e.g., child & adolescent, geriatric, addiction, etc.) completion of an accredited fellowship in the respective field. Prior experience in psychiatric practice, within specialty, within the past two (2) years. New Grads: Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency and/or fellowship satisfies this requirement. Current Residents or Fellows: In at least the 6th month of the PGY-3 or higher, and in the process of completing an accredited psychiatry residency or fellowship program satisfies this requirement.
