Provide preventive, early intervention, case management, and aftercare services to village residents dealing with behavioral health, addiction, and mental health issues. Operate under the direction of a clinical supervisor while adhering to the Behavioral Health Aide Program scope of practice.
Candidates must meet specific certification requirements based on work experience and training hours, ranging from trainee levels to advanced practitioner levels. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required, and compliance with health screenings and immunizations is a condition of employment.

The Behavioral Health Aide Program maintains three distinct methods of certifying education, training and experience for qualifications for each level: Initial Certification and Alternate Course of Study. They are outlined as follows:
1. Grand-Parenting: · 18 months work experience
2. Initial Certification: · 1,000 hours work experience; and
· 180 hours of BHA training
3. Alternate Course of Study
· RADACT with 1,000 hours of work experience, or
· UA endorsement with 1,000 hours of work experience, or
· Associate’s degree
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty.
1. Grand-Parenting: · 24 months work experience
2. Initial Certification: · 2,000 hours work experience, and
· 140 hours of BHA training
3. Alternate Course of Study
· RHS with 1,000 hours of work experience, or
· Associate’s degree with 1,000 hours of work experience, or
· Bachelor’s degree
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty.

2. Initial Certification: · 4,000 hours work experience, and
· 112 hours of BHA training
3. Alternate Course of Study
· Associate’s degree with 2,000 hours of work experience, or
· Bachelor’s degree with 500 hours of work experience, or
· Master’s degree
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty.
