The MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI scans according to protocol while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure. They are responsible for screening patients, maintaining equipment, and coordinating scan protocols with the Radiologist.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Registered Technologist program and hold current ARRT or ARMRIT certification. At least two years of experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging is preferred, along with current CPR certification.
Health Images is looking for a PRN MRI Technologist to join our team! We are targeting support for our Quail Crossing Center as well as, several surrounding locations. | Position Pay Range $38.98 - $50.25 |
Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.
1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.
This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.
No travel is expected for this position.
