The Speech Pathologist is responsible for diagnosing and providing treatment for patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. They may also supervise students and volunteers within the rehabilitation services department.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and possess at least two years of clinical experience, specifically in pediatric care. A Pennsylvania state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required.
Diagnoses and provides treatment for clients/patients who exhibit communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
1. Graduate of an approved Masters level program in Speech Language Pathology.
1. Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a health care facility.
2. Demonstrated strong clinical background in Pediatric care.
1. Free from communication deficits which would interfere with duties.
1. Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) preferred.
2. Pennsylvania license in speech‑language pathology.
3. Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Receives general supervision from the Manager of Rehabilitation Services.
Supervision of students in Speech-Language Pathology is a possibility along with volunteers if appropriate to the setting.
