The role involves receiving, accessioning, and processing clinical specimens while ensuring accurate data entry into the laboratory information system. Additionally, the assistant is responsible for distributing worksheets to medical technologists and ensuring timely reporting of results to clients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least 5 years of experience in specimen processing within a clinical laboratory. Completion of a certified phlebotomy program is preferred, along with the ability to work independently and follow safety protocols.
Under limited supervision, responsible for receiving clinical specimens, checking the requisitions and specimens for accuracy, accessioning the specimens, entering the orders into our laboratory information system, distributing worksheets to the medical technologists, and ensuring results are successfully reported to clients as part of our clinical services.
