The Certified Surgical Technician provides technical support to the surgical team by scrubbing, assisting with procedures, and managing surgical supplies and equipment. They are responsible for maintaining sterile environments, preparing operating rooms, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon during operations.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program with CST certification. A minimum of four years of experience in an ambulatory surgery center is required, along with BLS certification.
The Certified Surgical Technician (CST) serves as a member of the healthcare team and provides technical support to the surgeon, registered nurse, and anesthesiologist in the operating room. The CST assumes appropriate responsibilities in the perioperative area by scrubbing, assisting the RN circulator, setting up and breaking down surgical procedures, pulling and putting away supplies and equipment, and environmental service duties.
This is a per diem position 7–10 hour shift flexibility per week but this role can move into full-time.
Patches West Surgery Center is a pediatric outpatient center.
• One year of current Surgical Tech experience in an OR setting.
