• One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations.
• You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.

Evaluations

• Are completed according to department protocol. Completed within 48 hours once evaluation has been initiated. All relevant areas are thoroughly completed. Appropriate goals are set relative to the patient's prior level of function. Treatment plan is relevant to patient's problems identified. Patient/family participates in treatment plan and in setting goals.

• Treatment: Implements effective and adequate treatment following department guidelines. Ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness. Goals and treatment are modified as appropriate in relation to working toward goals. Selects appropriate treatment interventions. Utilizes specialized techniques. Patient safety is addressed with follow-up recommended. Recommends/obtains equipment as appropriate. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life-span of the patient.
