The Orthopedic Physician Assistant will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings while assisting surgeons with various orthopedic procedures. They are responsible for performing pre-op and post-op assessments, interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing ongoing patient education and follow-up care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physician Assistant program and hold current NCCPA certification. Applicants should possess or be eligible for a Maine PA license, with a preference for those having orthopedic or surgical experience.
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic patients in outpatient and inpatient settings Assist in orthopedic surgeries including joint replacement, fracture care, and sports procedures Perform pre-op and post-op assessments Order/interprete imaging and labs Provide patient education, treatment planning, and follow-up care Collaborate closely with surgeons, therapists, nursing, and ancillary teams
