The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic scans according to established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They also manage administrative duties to improve patient throughput and act as a liaison between medical staff and patients.
Candidates must hold ARRT or ARMRIT certification and obtain Heart Saver certification within 60 days of hire. An Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to): Ensures the performance of requested/required examinations in a time frame consistent with quality standards of the department. Performs an assessment of each patient’s condition and ability to participate in an exam. Obtains and records clinical information pertinent to the performance of the examination and interpretation of the images recorded. Ensures the confidentiality of all patient information. Ensures the general safety and comfort of the patient with regards to conditions that would jeopardize the welfare of the patient. Demonstrates continued competence in the performance of examinations included in the protocol manual. Performs examinations in the time frame consistent with the needs of the modality and as required by protocol including all sequences necessary. Performs when necessary and appropriate, additional sequences to better demonstrate an anatomical area. Accepts responsibility for examinations performed, uses initiative to produce a complete and accurate study. Accurately and consistently produces images in a manner which satisfactorily demonstrates diagnostic quality and finishes MR Study. Performs various non-imaging functions. Prepares as required and participates in orientation and training of others. Acts as a liaison between physicians, departments and patients Participates as a team member, feedback is solicited and accepted in a positive manner. Attends and participates in staff meetings.

Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
