The phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood specimens from patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. They must also follow laboratory policies for patient identification and specimen handling while participating in stroke alert processes.
Candidates must have one year of experience as a hospital laboratory phlebotomist or be a graduate of an approved phlebotomy training course. Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture is required.
