The Phlebotomist will collect and preserve blood samples and other body fluids for analysis while assisting in the daily workload. They will maintain compliance with established processes and communicate effectively with patients and laboratory staff.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with 6 months of phlebotomy experience or completion of an ASCP-approved training course. Strong attention to detail and the ability to adjust schedules to meet patient needs are essential.
Job Requirements Education High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent preferred. Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures, accrediting agencies and as directed by Leadership. Experience 6 months of phlebotomy experience that qualifies for American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification, or approved equivalent certification, preferred. OR Completion of a structured, American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) approved phlebotomy training course, or approved equivalent course, or equivalent preferred such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or MA AND experience in the following areas. Routine venipuncture experience preferred. AND Routine dermal puncture experience preferred. License/Certifications Skills/Knowledge/Abilities Requires strong attention to detail. Willing to adjust schedule/shift and pick up open shifts to meet patient needs. Physical Requirements Weight Demands Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force.
