Provide one-on-one in-home and community-based support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Assist with daily routines, community outings, and emotional regulation while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Candidates should have experience in caregiving or behavioral support and be willing to complete OIS behavioral safety training.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) deliver dependable, person-centered care that promotes independence, supports emotional regulation, and encourages meaningful daily routines.
Position Overview We are hiring a DSP / Caregiver to support an adult in a calm, low-demand environment with a balance of independent time and community outings. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, observant, and comfortable providing support without constant engagement - knowing when to step in and when to give space.
Enjoys walking in stores and visiting parks Likes music, pacing, and sensory regulation activities (fidgets) Values personal space and quiet time, especially in his room Benefits from a low-pressure environment with natural transitions between rest and activity Has improved significantly in emotional regulation over the past year
1 in-home and community-based support Assist with community outings (stores, parks, light activities) Support emotional regulation through awareness and calm presence Maintain a safe environment and respond appropriately if behaviors escalate Respect independence while offering gentle guidance when needed Support basic organization and daily living routines
Important Considerations The individual may become frustrated when unable to access preferred activities Occasional physical behaviors (historically)—though reduced—mean: Situational awareness is important A steady, confident presence is key Providers should be comfortable supporting someone who self-regulates through movement (walking/pacing)

Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements) Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying) Comfortable supporting personal care needs Preferred: Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles Experience supporting individuals with I/DD Strong communication and boundary-setting skills CPR/First Aid certification
