The intern performs echocardiography functions under direct supervision, including conducting TTE scans and maintaining unit cleanliness. They are also responsible for reporting patient conditions and providing age-appropriate care.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited radiography or respiratory therapy program and maintain good academic standing. A high school diploma or GED is required, and BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
Responsible for performing functions as authorized under the direct supervision of an echocardiography tech. In addition, performs basic echocardiography through TTE’s (trans thoracic echo) scans to include patient care, reporting patient conditions, circumstances, and maintaining equipment and unit cleanliness. The Clinical intern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.
May be required to work irregular schedules. Potential exposure to hazardous materials/situations, including but not limited to, blood-borne pathogens, ionizing radiation, and communicable diseases.
Must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in the Amarillo College Radiography Program. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program with an anticipated program completion within 24 months from the date of hire. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
