The Sterile Processing Technician III is responsible for the preparation, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. They also manage inventory, maintain accurate records, and ensure the efficient distribution of supplies within the facility.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold a valid CRCST or CSPDT certification. Proficiency in medical terminology, basic computer skills, and the ability to handle detailed work accurately are required.
EDUCATION HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE CRCST-Certified Registered Central Service Technician OR CSPDT-SPD Technician Certification - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Elementary computer procedures as they apply to equipment, supply tracking, ordering and preference / pick list generation. Knowledge of basic inventory control concepts and PAR level systems. Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment. Must be able to read, write and speak English, communicate and work effectively with hospital employees, sales representatives; internal and external customers, perform simple mathematical functions. Handle a large volume of detailed work accurately.
