The pharmacy technician is responsible for the preparation of IV admixtures, unit dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications for critical care and OR areas. They also maintain adequate stock levels and ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician. Previous experience with IV admixtures is preferred, and PTCB certification is also highly desired.
Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
Education H.S.
