The Mammography Technologist prepares patients and operates mammographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images. They also ensure patient safety, maintain sterile fields, and perform quality control procedures on equipment.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be a graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification and registration by the ARRT in Radiography are required, with Mammography certification needed within 12 months of hire.

Classification: Non Exempt
The Mammography Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the mammographic equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images.
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program required.
1 year of experience in Mammography preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography required. Mammography ndash; RT(R)(M) within 12 months of hire required. Certified and registered by ARRT in Bone Densitometry ndash; RT(R)(M)(BD) preferred.
Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates Mammography equipment.
