The nurse acts as the primary medical coordinator for individuals with developmental disabilities, performing health-care services and supervising delegated nursing functions. Responsibilities include administering medication, maintaining medical records, and assisting with physical examinations.
Candidates must hold a valid NYS Practical Nurse license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of LPN experience. Additional requirements include First Aid and CPR certification, a valid driver's license, and proficiency in computer software.
$23.75- $32.60 /hr based on verifiable experience We pay for experience; so please submit an updated resume so we can pay you! Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED. One-year experience as an LPN. Experience in ID/DD preferred. Computer Skills: Word processing, database, Internet software, E-mail. Certificates and Licenses: NYS License as a Practical Nurse. Certification in First Aid and CPR.

Who we are looking for: We are looking for a caring, engaging LPN to coordinate and perform health-care services for individuals with developmental disabilities and provides direct supervision for OPWDD delegated LPN nursing functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Acts as the primary medical coordinator for individuals in the residence; Interviews individuals to determine medical problems and conditions. Acts as primary staff person for documentation of medication administration in the medication database. Reviews medication administration records on a regular basis. Administers specified medication and notes time and amount on medication administration database. Assists Registered Nurse with physical examinations as needed. Reviews physician's orders and follow-up needs with Registered Nurse. Administers First Aid and CPR on an emergency and as needed basis. Observes individuals and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the program RN. Counsels individuals on good health habits. QualificationsAdditional Requirements: A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required. Medication Administration certification (or eligibility for certification). SCIP-R certification (or eligibility for certification) based on program need.
