The role involves evaluating patient needs via telephone triage and administering medications as ordered by physicians. Additionally, the specialist assists with office procedures and maintains the integrity of the medical office environment.
Candidates must be either a licensed LPN in Florida or a medical assistant with an accredited program completion or relevant work experience. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with current BLS certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
Description THE IDEAL CANDIDATE NEED TO BE AN LPN OR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT Essential Functions · Identifies and evaluates patient needs by way of telephone triage. · Administers medication including injections; documents medication given or prescribed by ordering physician as required. · Identifies patient and family education needs and provides instruction. · Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate. · Adheres to the Clinical Services policies and procedures when documenting information patient’s medical records · Facilitates the flow of patients to maintain the integrity of the physician’s office. · Assists the physician with medical office procedures. · Maintain the integrity of the office.
LPN Specialist requirements are: Required Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must possess active Florida license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Preferred Education and Experience: Experience or training in a medical health care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Medical Assistant Specialist Requirements are: Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1 year of Medical Assistant work experience within the last 2 years. Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Current BLS certification or to be completed within first 90 days of employment Additional Qualification: 1 Year experience in primary care setting. Current BLS certification or to be completed within three months of employment.
