The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care, including performing preventative and therapeutic oral health services such as patient examinations and teeth cleaning. This role also involves educating patients on proper oral hygiene practices and collaborating with the dentist on treatment plans.
Candidates must possess a certification or diploma from an ADA accredited dental hygiene program and hold a current, unrestricted NYS Dental Hygienist license. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience in healthcare or customer service functioning independently, along with proficiency in electronic health records and comprehensive knowledge of dental anatomy and infection control.

Job Summary The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is responsible for providing comprehensive dental care by performing preventative and therapeutic oral health services. This role involves examining patients, cleaning teeth, and educating patients on oral hygiene practices.
Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene is preferred. Certification or diploma from a NYS qualifying or ADA accredited dental hygiene program.
3+ years in a healthcare or customer service setting, functioning at an independent level with solid foundation of role knowledge preferred. A valid government-issued photo identification document is required. Current CPR certification through a HRSA accepted agency is required (can be provided upon employment). A current, unrestricted, NYS Dental Hygienist license is required. Completion of continuing education in accordance to NYS licensing renewal and privileging requirements. Proficient in navigating and updating electronic health records while maintaining data accuracy. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of dental anatomy, preventive oral care, and infection control procedures, applying this expertise to deliver high-quality patient care and education. Uses interpersonal skills in building relationships across departments. Uses judgement to adapt communication style to various audiences and situations. Excels in ensuring precision in documentation and processes.
