The Residential Counselor works closely with the treatment team to ensure the resident program schedule and master treatment plan are executed as designed. This involves assisting nurses with physical and psychiatric care and actively engaging with residents during daily activities in a therapeutic manner.
A high school diploma is required, but a Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field is strongly preferred, along with at least one year of direct care experience with children/adolescents in a residential or juvenile setting. Candidates must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, adolescent development, and behavior management techniques.
