Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing while ensuring accurate patient identification and data entry into the LIS. Conducts waived testing, maintains quality control records, and assists clinical staff with specimen handling inquiries.
A high school diploma and previous phlebotomy experience are required. Preference is given to candidates with at least one year of experience in phlebotomy or laboratory specimen processing across all age groups.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma required along with previous phlebotomy experience. Preferred Education and Experience: A minimum of one year experience as a phlebotomist, Laboratory Assistant, or Laboratory Specimen Processor to include phlebotomy performed on all ages and ability to adapt to multiple computer systems. Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Basic knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills. Knowledge of specimen collection, specimen requirements, specimen integrity and specimen handling.
