The Lab Assistant plays a vital role in patient care by performing phlebotomy services for both inpatients and outpatients in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner. This position is also responsible for supporting laboratory operations through various essential functions.
Key Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and minimal patient discomfort Collect and properly label blood specimens as ordered by physicians Ensure specimens are handled and transported according to laboratory standards Support lab staff with day-to-day laboratory tasks as needed Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and compliance standards Why Join Newberry Health? Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent training and experience One year of prior experience preferred Certifications Phlebotomy certification preferred
