The Shelter Services Advocate ensures participants' basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter are met while promoting a safe, empowering environment. The role focuses on providing trauma-informed engagement to help survivors heal and live independently.
Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in the domestic violence field, with two years preferred. Candidates must possess a valid Hawaii driver's license and be able to work flexible shifts including overnights and weekends.

Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager or Program Supervisor, the Shelter Services Advocate is responsible for promoting an environment that provides participants a sense of empowerment, improves their well-being, and increases their ability to live safely and independently. The Shelter Services Advocate is primarily responsible for ensuring that participants’ basic needs are met, i.e., they have food, clothing and shelter, and that they are safe and supported while in the shelter program. Provides Trauma-Informed engagement and services to all participants, where the focus is on building healthy relationships and utilizing the healthy relationships to empower participants and help them to heal from their trauma. This role is 20 hours or less
