The intern assists with MRI department operations, including patient preparation, positioning, and room resetting. They support general workflow and equipment organization under the supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in good academic standing in the Amarillo College Radiography Program. A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
The MRI Radiology Clinical Intern assists with department operations under the direct supervision of a registered and licensed Radiologic Technologist. Responsibilities include supporting patient preparation and positioning for MRI procedures, preparing and resetting exam rooms, stocking and organizing equipment and supplies, and assisting with workflow as needed. The intern is expected to demonstrate excellent customer service, professionalism, and a patient‑centered approach at all times, as well as the flexibility to adapt to fluctuating patient volumes and departmental needs. While functioning as an employee of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, the Radiology Clinical Intern must not perform any radiation exposures, in accordance with the Texas Board of Medical Radiologic Technology requirements.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be currently enrolled and in an accredited Radiography Program, with an anticipated completion date as outlined in the radiography program. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
