Performs advanced MRI imaging procedures and serves as a technical resource for staff training and continuing education. Manages quality assurance programs, safety standards, and assists with accreditation and research studies.
Requires graduation from an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology and at least 3 years of MRI experience. Must hold ARRT MR, ARMRIT, NMTC, or RDMS certification along with BLS/CPR certification.
Performs all job responsibilities of MRI Technologist Advanced, including procedures, MR safety and patient safety in the department, and maintaining patient information. Serves as a technical resource to Technologists on a daily basis, assisting with continuing education needs and training on new techniques, protocols, and software applications. Responsible for offering remediation with Technologists, when necessary, and participates in staff annual performance reviews. Responsible for Tech quality assurance program and their protocols alongside of or in place of the Lead MRI Tech, and assumes leadership role in training staff on new equipment. When appropriate, creates and implements new training programs and/or assists with the startup of new offsite locations. Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques, shares pertinent information with department, and assists with research studies, when applicable. Assists with accreditation responsibilities and ensures that all quality control tests, safety standards, and procedures are conducted and documented.
Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic technology. 3 years of experience in MRI required. ARRT MR or ARMRIT certified required.
ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
